About the Event

For the first time in 3 sessions, we feel like we have enough done on prior projects in order to host a Pitch Day! For this, we invite current members and the general public to pitch their game ideas to us. Usually there's a theme, but since it has been a while since our last pitch day, we are going to keep the theme open. We will accept up to 15 pitches. If your pitch is on the waitlist, then attend anyway and you may have the opportunity to present if there are any no shows.


- The event will be held through our stage channel in discord. It'll start by 7:00 p.m. and end by 8:30 p.m. 

- Members will vote for their top 3 favorite pitches from 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

- The Leadership team will discuss the top 3 favorites and a winner(s) will be announced on May 28


- No more than 10 slides in your pitch deck

- Prepare a short, visually rich, slide show presentation.

- Your pitch must be timed between 3 to 5 minutes. Leadership will stop all presentations over the 5 minute mark.

- Proof of Concept prototypes are welcomed, but not required. Having this can give your project a boost during voting.

- Vertical slices are also welcomed, but not required. Having this can give your project a boost during voting.

- The most important aspects we need to know: How does the game start? How does it end? How many levels? How does the player/game progress? What's the story (if there is one)? How do we play? What's the art style? Which game engine do you want to use? What are existing games that are similar? What is it's unique aspect?  If you can express all of this in one sentence, bravo. 

New for this Pitch Day: 

If your project is selected then you must commit to Summer 2024, Fall 2024, and Spring 2025 sessions as the project lead(s). Through time we've realized it is very difficult to get a game completely done in one session. This works better- By the end of the summer, our goal will be to have a vertical slice with a detailed plan of the full game.  By the end of the Fall, the complete game (with assets) should be finished. Spring will focus on the polish and publishing process.
