One Man's Trash

This project was pitched by Emma Chase in October 2022.


Many years ago, a gas that caused widespread paranoia started spreading like wildfire around the world. People who inhaled the gas went insane and killed each other, and many people moved into the remote wilderness to try and avoid the carnage. Our main character 'Riley' was born and raised in one of these off-the-grid households, and their parents sheltered them from the outside world so that they knew nothing about the apocalypse. One day, the ghost of the main character’s grandpa named Tom Runn comes to them. This is where Riley's quest begins.  [Prototype button not yet active]

This project was pitched by Emma Chase in October 2022 for the MDIA 472/MonRiverGames collaborative session.

Design/Story/Art Team:

Emma Chase, Malachi Ruffin, and Victoria Webb Johnson.  Johnson also created a video trailer for it.

Programming Team:

The lead programmer was Tessla Muir, who built the dialogue and quest system from the ground up in Unity. She also designed most of the UI. Supporting programmer on this project was Zachary Hubbard, who focused on inventory system and level transitions
